Particle Board

Particleboard not only maintains the original characteristics of wood, but also overcomes some of the defects of wood, and has certain characteristics that natural wood does not have.

The difference in strength between vertical and horizontal directions is small. Ordinary particleboard has very little difference in longitudinal and transverse strength because the particles are evenly arranged and criss-crossed. Natural wood is anisotropic, with high longitudinal strength and low transverse strength.

No natural defects. Compared with natural wood, particleboard has no natural defects such as knots and scars, and its surface is smooth. Large format, controllable thickness and density. Natural wood cannot be directly processed into large-format boards due to its diameter restrictions. However, particleboard can be made into a large format board, and if a continuous press is used to produce it, the length can be unlimited. At the same time, its thickness and density can be artificially controlled according to the product use.

Good dimensional stability. The expansion and dry shrinkage of particleboard in the longitudinal and transverse directions are small and uniform. Therefore, it shows good dimensional stability when the external environment temperature and humidity change.

Good processing performance. Particleboard has good processing properties. It can be used for drilling, tenoning, nailing, planing, molding and other mechanical processing, and can also be used for gluing, painting and various veneer decorations.

Can have special properties. In the manufacturing process of particleboard, adding chemicals with different functions can make the product have some special properties while maintaining the original performance, such as water resistance, moisture resistance, anti-corrosion and mildew resistance, flame retardant, anti-static, etc.
